# Export data (https://docs.pulsarml.com/guides/desktop-app/export-data)

Request availability and stops files straight from Pulsar's database, and receive a download link by email.

From **Export Data** you can download information directly from Pulsar's database. Four types of file are available.

## Export a file [#export-a-file]

<Steps>
  <Step>
    Open **Export Data** and choose the file you need in **Select type of export**.

    <Screenshot id="export-data-types" alt="The Export Data page with the Select type of export list open, showing Availability Report, Stops Report, Stops Report (Standardized) and Stops with production times report. The open list covers the date range and Select recipients; the disabled Export button is below it." width="1440" height="900" />
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Set the dates to download. By default it's the last week.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    In **Select recipients**, pick people from your contacts list or type an email address.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click **Export**. It's enabled once you've chosen a type and at least one recipient. The recipients get an email with a download link to the file.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The export includes the machines in the machine group selected at the top of the page.

## File types [#file-types]

* **Availability Report**: a list of every shift of the machines within the dates you chose, with metrics such as Availability, OEE, Performance and stop time. Accounts with production enabled for the whole company see this option as **Shift metrics**.
* **Stops Report**: detailed information on the stops of all machines, such as duration and general and specific causes.
* **Stops Report (Standardized)**: the same stops information with a fixed set of columns in a fixed order (date, shift, shift status, company, machine, shift start and end, stop start and end, duration, general cause, specific cause, description and equipment), so a spreadsheet or BI tool that reads it always finds the same layout.
* **Stops with production times report**: a chronological list of every production and stop event of the machines within the dates you chose.

If you have trouble exporting data or need help, contact your Customer Success representative or [raise a support ticket](/guides/getting-started/support-ticket) from the app.
